1. Why is there a need for health screening?
Health Screening is a convenient & cost effective way to promote a healthy lifestyle. It allows early detection and intervention of illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, ischaemic heart diseases, high cholesterol states and cancers. With early detection & intervention, the long-term complications of these illnesses such as stroke, heart attack, kidney failure can be prevented or delayed.

2. Who should go for Health Screening?
Individuals with the following risk factors should go for Health Screening:·
• Family history of hypertension, diabetes, heart attacks, high cholesterol, stroke and cancers
• Social history of smoking, alcohol consumption & multiple sex partners
• Problem of obesity, unexplained weight loss, abnormal bleeding, urinary and/or bowel abnormalities, chronic fatigue and unexplained hair loss
• All healthy adults, especially those above the age of 40 years old

How often should Health Screening be conducted?
It is prudent to have the Health Screening repeated on a yearly basis. However, this varies with patients who are classified as "high risk", namely those with a positive medical and/or family history.
